Abstract

In the atmosphere of the HD217944 (G8IV) star, the microturbulent velocity is determined for the odd-even and even-odd transitions. Thus, the microturbulent velocity of iron atoms determined on low levels of odd term lines (ξt = 3.5 km/s) is less than the microturbulent velocity (ξt = 4.2 km/s) determined on low levels of even term lines. This indicates that the microturbulent velocity increases towards the upper layers of atmosphere.
