ONOMASTIC PROBLEMS OF TOURIST MAPS OF SAMTSKHEJAVAKHETI

Abstract

The purpose of the article is to present the problems of toponymy on the
tourist maps of Samtskhe-Javakheti and their significance, both from the
perspective of tourism and onomastics. First, the challenges related to the onomastics of the region are analyzed from a historical and demographic point of view. Then, is presented the analysis of onomastic material on static and dynamic maps of Samtskhe-Javakheti. At the end of the article, measures are given that need to be taken to overcome the problems associated with the onomastics of Samtskhe-Javakheti maps.
