Toward the personality of Saint Mary Magdalene in Orthodox and Catholic churches were different attitude during the long period. The orthodox church recognized her as a saint mother equal of the apostle. Till 1969 Catholic churche considered her as a sinful, repentant woman. These different attitudes were revealed in the profane literature of XX and XXI century. The article discusses different views and ideas about Mary Magdalene‘s character in Georgian and foreign literary works.
