Culture and language are inseparable. Culture plays a great role in teaching foreign languages. Students study a lot from culture. Knowing culture of some people means to have a good relationship with the people speaking this language, understand them and be a member of the globalized world. Teaching foreign languages includes several components: grammar competence, communication competence and cultural competence. The last one is an inseparable part of teaching and learning languages. That‘s why learning and teaching culture is included in the curriculum.
Activities used in teaching and learning English through culture are vary and interesting. They give teachers opportunities to make their lessons more productive and effective, enrich students‘ vocabulary, develop speaking skills, teach students to express their ideas, how to start and finish the conversation, agree or disagree, have communication with people of different cultures.
